Individuals may be known by several names, which are either given or acquired directly or indirectly in the course of life events, actions, activities or even due to the era, location or personalities. Often these names have interesting meanings or stories associated with each of them.
The same applies in the plant world. Since jojoba plant was said to be recorded by Archibald Menzies', botanist, expedition in 1793 in on arrival in Santa Barbara, California, jojoba plant has been known and called several names in different geographies, including and not limited to:
goat nut
deer nut
pignut
wild nut
quinine nut
coffeeberry
gray box bush.
It is not often clear why these names were given or developed as the case may be but seemed always associated with the nuts or food and feedstuff feed to the animals or eaten by humans for nourishment in that location.
The widely accepted name remains jojoba (pronounced ho-ho-ba) plant and the given botanical name Simmondsia chinensis, from which the natural jojoba oil is produced either under strict organic farming rules and conditions or the non-organic production, with different benefits to be discussed elsewhere.
It is worth noting that Sainbiotics Organic Natural Jojoba Oil is exactly what the name says, produced under strict organic farming rules and conditions.
